LeBron James and Anthony Davis struggled offensively in the first half but the Lakers were able to stay in the game thanks to Caruso's 12 first half points.
In the third quarter, the Lakers came out with improved energy and defense. They were able to force multiple Warrior turnovers and take their first lead of the game. Anthony Davis began to find his rhythm on offense and the Lakers took advantage of small ball lineups from the Warriors to build their lead to as much as 7 points. However, Steph Curry hit some big third quarter shots to keep the Warriors in the game.
In the fourth quarter, the game remained close with multiple lead changes. Steph Curry continued his big night with over 30 points but LeBron James and Anthony Davis took over down the stretch. James hit a clutch three with under a minute left to put the Lakers up 3 before Curry tied it up. However, the Lakers were able to hold on for the victory thanks to strong defense on Curry in the final possession.
